The Wear Spanish Teach Shirt was designed waaaay back in the mid 2000s. I was living Portland and my friends noticed the fact that despite not knowing how to speak Spanish, my Spanish accent was impeccable.
I grew up in Los Angeles. My grandmother only spoke Spanish and my parents were both fluent in English and Spanish. People of that generation were often the victims of racial discrimination growing up in the USA despite being US citizens. My siblings and I were encouraged to learn impeccable English. If we picked up Spanish, that was a bonus.
I can dabble in Spanish and pretty much understand everything, but I can’t speak it fluently. This was especially true when I lived in Portland since there wasn’t anyplace to practice on a regular basis.
My friends were impressed that I could order Mexican food in Spanish and somehow I got the idea to create a Teach Shirt to help with basic phrases.
Obviously it was a joke, but it resulted in a t-shirt design with 3 companion videos. I registered the domain name in hopes of creating more of these but life sent me in other directions.

So here it is, reissued along with the original animated videos created in Flash. Remember Flash?
Buen Provecho !! Enjoy!!
